Alabama staged a furious rally while trying to remain unbeaten in Southeastern Conference play. The Crimson Tide (15-5 overall, 10-1 SEC) used a 26-6 run in the final 10 1/2 minutes to cut Missouri's lead to 66-65.

With seven seconds left, Missouri forward Mitchell Smith blocked Jahvon Quinerly's layup attempt. Xavier Pinson made two free throws for the Tigers with 4.1 seconds left.

The Crimson Tide had an opportunity to force overtime, but Jaden Shackelford missed a 3-point jumper at the buzzer.

Kobe Brown scored 13 points and grabbed nine rebounds for the Tigers (13-3, 6-3). Mark Smith added 12 points but missed the front end of a one-and-one opportunity with 12 seconds left to give Alabama the opportunity to win.

Shackelford led Alabama in scoring with 15 points. Quinerly (12 points), Keon Ellis (12 points) and John Petty Jr. (11 points) also scored in double figures.

Missouri is 5-0 this season in games decided by five or fewer points. The Tigers have defeated four nationally ranked teams for the first time since their 2011-12 season.

The Tigers raced to a quick 14-7 lead with Dru Smith scoring nine points in the first 3 1/2 minutes of the game.

After the Crimson Tide cut the deficit to four points, Tigers center Jeremiah Tilmon converted a three-point play to trigger a 17-5 run.

Alabama turned the ball over seven times in the first 11 minutes while falling behind 31-15.

Missouri took a 44-28 lead into the half. The Tigers got points from eight different players in the first half, including a combined 25 from Dru Smith and Mark Smith.

Meanwhile Alabama missed 22-of-32 shots from the floor and 5-of-9 free throws during the first 20 minutes.

The Tigers started fast in the second half as well, pushing their lead to 52-31 with Pinson scoring two baskets during an 8-3 run.
